I’m Sam, and I direct, produce, shoot, and edit documentary films. My films have taken me from the gold mines of Ghana, to the canopy of a redwood forest and high in the Ethiopian plains.
I strive to tell stories that entertain and inspire, but always with a purpose. I make films that are driven by story, guided by visuals, and don’t rely on talking heads. You can see my films on vimeo, PBS stations, and film festivals around the world.
I was born in New Mexico, studied Film Production at Chapman University, and currently produce short docs for The Atlantic in Washington, DC. I freelance occasionally as a documentary and commercial cinematographer.
In rare moments of free time, I can be found outdoors.
