I’m Sam, and I direct, produce, shoot, and edit nonfiction films. My work has taken me from the gold mines of Ghana, to the canopy of a redwood forest and high in the Ethiopian plains.

I strive to tell stories that entertain and inspire, but always with a purpose. I make documentaries that are driven by story, guided by visuals, and don’t rely on talking heads.

Currently, I freelance as a documentary director and cinematographer in Los Angeles. Previously, I was a Senior Associate Producer at The Atlantic, where I produced, shot, and edited a number of award-winning documentaries and the To Live Deliberately video series.

In rare moments of free time, I can be found outdoors.
